What I Want for My Children

I want my daughter to enjoy life to its fullest.

 I want her to be well-liked--not necessarily the most popular girl around, but likable, good natured, and friendly enough to be received by her peers.

I want her to have a healthy dose of self-confidence, to feel good about herself, and to see herself as the wonderful woman God has created her to be.

I wish for her at least a few moments to really shine. I want her to radiate God's glory through her appearance, her words, and her deeds.

But as she fast approaches the day when she will leave our nest, one of the most important things I want for Abigail is what the writer of Proverbs said he wanted for his son:

My son, if your heart is wise,
My heart will rejoice--indeed, I myself;
Yes, my inmost being will rejoice
When your lips speak right things.

What do you want for your children?
