A New Friend

This past weekend I had the joy of making a new friend. And to top off a good thing, that new friend is a fellow writer.

Carol Cox and I met this weekend when we shared a table in the exhibit area of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention and the ACE Conference. We had the thrill and honor of being this year's featured Arizona authors. Carol is a fiction author and has published so many books it had my head spinning. She is one of my new heroes, not just because she had so many books on the table, but because she is a lovely lady to boot.

I started one of Carol's books as soon as I got home and I'm hooked. I'm reading A Fair to Remember, which takes place during the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. You can learn more about Carol and her Christian, historical fiction books here. If you're like me and always on the hunt for good Christian fiction, you won't be disappointed with Carol's selections.

Carol and I passed the hours talking about our families, our writing, and writers' conferences. She has almost persuaded me to attend the Mount Hermon Christian Writers' Conference this spring. Of course, that doesn't take much. I already have their information page bookmarked and have been drooling over it for months. We'll see. Funds are quite limited right now, but maybe God will make a way.

If any of the kind people who dropped by my booth are reading, I want to thank you for stopping by our booth at the conference and for checking in with me here. It was fun sharing my resources with church leaders, but I most enjoyed just getting to meet you all and hear about your churches and Bible studies. I do hope you'll drop by here occasionally for a visit.

Tomorrow I'll unveil the big surprise of the week, so stay tuned!
